In Loving Memory of Margaret “Maggie” Turner
(1949–2025)
Margaret “Maggie” Turner, age 75, of Milford, Delaware, passed away peacefully at her home on April 8, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Maggie spent her early years in a bustling household where hard work and family values were the center of life. After graduating high school, she began her career as a machinist, joining the United Steelworkers Union in 1969 — a proud member for over 40 years. Maggie believed deeply in the power of working people and spent much of her career advocating for fairness, dignity, and safety in the workplace.
Maggie moved to Milford in 1995, where she quickly became a fixture in the community. Whether volunteering at the Milford Senior Center, cheering on the Buccaneers on Friday nights, or helping organize neighborhood events, Maggie loved being involved and giving back to the town she called home for three decades.
A devoted mother, Maggie raised two daughters and one son, instilling in them the same work ethic, compassion, and resilience she carried throughout her life. She adored her five grandchildren and never missed a birthday, recital, or little league game. Her greatest joys were Sunday dinners with family, tending her rose garden, and long walks by Silver Lake.
Maggie will be remembered for her booming laugh, her unwavering loyalty to her friends and family, her love of classic country music, and her famous apple pie.
She is survived by her children, Lisa Parker (Dan), Andrew Turner (Melissa), and Rebecca Sloan (David); her five grandchildren; her sister, Janet Miller; and countless friends and neighbors who were lucky enough to know her.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 12 at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Church in Milford. A reception celebrating Maggie’s life will immediately follow at the Milford Community Center.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Maggie’s memory to the Milford Senior Center.
