Milford School District will hold community engagement meetings to get feedback for updates to its strategic plan

Milford School District is seeking parent and community feedback to help with the strategic plan process. The plan will ensure that Portrait of a Graduate, Core Values, Vision, Mission and Priorities align with the district’s beliefs about Milford School District. Meetings for parents and the community will be held January 11 at 6:30 and 7:00 PM as well as January 12 at 6:30 and 7:00 PM. All meetings will be conducted via Zoom.

“Over the past several months, the Milford School District Strategic Plan Steering Committee has met several times and drafted a number of components for the next Milford Strategic Plan. These components were created through the feedback from the survey conducted in the fall coupled with the steering committee’s representation of their community group,” Trish Gerken, Public Information Officer, said. “We are now seeking feedback from a broader representation of the community to ensure that all components of the plan align with our beliefs about the district.”

The district collected student and stakeholder surveys, which included staff, community members and families, over the past few months. The deadline to submit surveys was October 26, 2022, and all surveys remain anonymous. Information collected from those surveys will be discussed at the planning meetings.

“It is the district’s goal to set a clear path forward for Milford School District and its schools with a comprehensive plan, updating its mission, vision, priorities, and goals to include long and short term planning,” Gerken said.
