A Juneteenth celebration is being held at Bicentennial Park on Friday, June 19, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. with entertainment, government officials, and members of the local business community in attendance.
MILFORD, DE: The event will commemorate Juneteenth, which marks the end of slavery in the United States. It will feature more than 40 local vendors, food trucks, bouncy houses and music.

The fourth annual Juneteenth celebration will be held at Bicentennial Park on June 19 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Lt. Gov. Kyle Evans Gay is expected to speak at about 11:30 a.m., followed by Milford Mayor Todd Culotta.
The Milford Police Department will also be in attendance offer free food for children.
Darron Johnson-Wilson, who serves on the Downtown Milford board of directors, played a large role in organizing the celebration.
“I am from Milford and I love this community. I think it is very important to celebrate freedom with our families, ” Mr. Johnson-Wilson said about his personal motivations with organizing the event.
This year marks Milford’s fourth Juneteenth celebration. Juneteenth became a federal holiday in 2021.
Local companies sponsoring the event include Fresh, United Way of Delaware, Aldi, and Key Properties Group.
The community is invited to attend and celebrate the nation’s heritage, culture, and history.
