The Lewes Historical Society will host its 19th annual Mid-Atlantic Sea Glass & Coastal Arts Festival on June 6 and 7, bringing dozens of artists, educational exhibits, and live demonstrations to the area.
The two-day event will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine, at the society’s main campus at 110 Shipcarpenter Street in Lewes.
Organizers say the festival will feature more than 75 sea glass and coastal artists, along with lectures, exhibits, and family-friendly activities.
“This family-fun event features over 75 sea glass and coastal artists, sea glass history and identification experts, education, lectures, the largest sea glass exhibit in the area, live music, food, and more!”

Artists from across the Mid-Atlantic region are expected to showcase a wide range of work, including sea glass pieces, jewelry, home décor, sculpture, ceramics, photography, textiles, and paintings.
“Over 75 regional and local sea glass and coastal-themed artists will be available to showcase their unique art forms, including sea glass, jewelry, home decor, wood, metal sculpture, ceramics, photography, textiles, and painting, and more!”
Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn about the origins of sea glass and other artifacts by bringing their own finds for identification. Experts from the Delmarva Antique Bottle Club will be on site throughout the weekend.
“Bring your favorite pieces of sea glass to show our shard identification experts from the Delmarva Antique Bottle Club, who will be at the festival the entire weekend. Discover the origin and history of your pieces!”
In addition to exhibits, the festival will include educational programming and demonstrations, including hourly glass-blowing sessions and presentations focused on sea glass and the Mid-Atlantic coastline.
“Observe how glass-blowing is done today with hourly glass-blowing demonstrations scheduled throughout the festival.”
Food vendors and live music are also planned, with performances scheduled throughout the weekend.

Admission is $10 per person per day, while children 12 and under are admitted free. Organizers noted that attendees must present a purchase receipt at the gate for entry.
