The Milford School District will host a free Back-to-School Resource Day on Wednesday, Aug. 12, to help families prepare for the start of the 2026-27 school year.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Milford Central Academy bus platform, 1021 N. Walnut St., and is open to the public.

Families will be able to register incoming kindergarten students, with computers and translators available to assist. The event will also offer free school supplies while supplies last, complimentary snacks, and access to community resources.

In addition, families can schedule free haircuts and free or low-cost medical services to help students meet school health requirements. Appointments for both services must be reserved in advance.

“Our goal is to make sure every student begins the school year feeling prepared, confident, and ready to learn,” Superintendent Travis Moorman said in a statement. “By bringing together these resources and services in one place, we’re making it easier for families to access the support they need while strengthening the partnerships that help our students thrive.”

According to the district, the event is intended to provide families with a convenient opportunity to complete several back-to-school tasks in one location before the first day of classes.

For more information or to inquire about appointment availability for haircuts or medical services, contact Ms. Norman at anorman@msd.k12.de.us or 302-424-8819.
