A popular Delaware crab house has expanded to a new coastal location, as FINS Hospitality Group opened Claws Seafood House on Garfield Parkway in Bethany Beach over the weekend.
The restaurant, located at 210 Garfield Parkway, welcomed its first guests following a soft opening on April 2, marking the brand’s second location after its longtime presence in Rehoboth Beach.
Claws Seafood House first opened on Rehoboth Avenue in 2006 and has built a following among locals and visitors for its casual atmosphere and all-you-can-eat crab offerings. The Bethany Beach expansion brings the concept to another busy Delaware beach town ahead of the summer season.
Owners TJ Linton and JR Hamer said they are looking to replicate the experience that made the original location a regional favorite while establishing connections within the Bethany Beach community.
Linton, who began working in the restaurant industry at 19, joined FINS Hospitality Group in 2016 and has since helped open multiple locations within the company. He currently serves as district manager and is also a partner in several FINS-affiliated restaurants. Linton says he looks forward to building lasting relationships with guests in Bethany Beach and establishing a loyal local following.
Hamer, the son of FINS Hospitality Group owner Jeff Hamer, has worked in the family’s restaurant business in a variety of roles over the years. Now a student at the University of South Carolina studying hospitality management, he continues to be involved in the company’s operations. JR says he is dedicated to delivering the classic Claws experience and hopes to make the new Bethany location a place guests look forward to visiting every summer.
The new restaurant offers a menu consistent with the original location, focusing on seafood dishes and the crab specials that have defined the brand.
Located along one of Bethany Beach’s main corridors, the restaurant is positioned to serve both year-round residents and seasonal visitors as the coastal town prepares for the peak tourism months.
FINS Hospitality Group reported a strong turnout during opening weekend, signaling early interest in the new location.
