Second Street Players has released their productions for the 2025 season

Second Street Players has raised the curtain on their 2025 season with a wide range of productions planned. The season opens February 7 with “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” by Dale Wasserman. Performances are planned for February 7 through 9 and 14 through 16.

“Our next production has adventures abounding with the youth production of “Peter Pan and Wendy,” adapted by Doug Rand from the novel by J.M. Barrie,” Tracy Dissinger, President of Second Street Players said. “This is a production with our very talented Milford youth, so it is a must-see performance. The audience will follow the adventures of Peter Pan, a boy who does not want to grow up, and the three siblings he recruits for a magical adventure in Neverland.”

“Peter Pan and Wendy” will be performed March 28 through 30. The play is directed by Racehl Loper and John Hulse. The spring production is “Steel Magnolias,” planned for May 9 through 11 and May 16 through 18, directed by Becky Craft. The original play was written by Robert Harling.

“This is an endearing classic, telling the tale of a young beautician who arrives in a Louisiana town and finds work at a local salon,” Dissinger said. “The small group of women share a close bond of friendship and welcome the young woman into their fold. Many will remember the film starring Shirley MacLaine, Sally Field, Dolly Parton, Olympia Dukakis, Julia Roberts and Daryl Hannah.”

In the summer of 2025, “The Secret Garden” will be performed. An enchanting musical with music and lyrics by Marsha Norman and Lucy Simon, the play is based on a novel by Frances Hodgson. Burnett. The Second Street Players production will be directed by David Button and John H. Hulse with performances July 11 through 13 and July 18 through 20.

“The second youth production is “Villain School,” a delightfully entertaining play directed by Guy Crawford,” Dissinger said. “This is based on the books by Brian D. Taylor about a school for famous storybook villains.” The production is planned for August 29 through 31.

“Little Shop of Horrors” is planned for October 10 through 12 and October 17 through 19, directed by Chris Ennis and featuring Audrey II on the stage. The story is written by Howard Ashman and Allan Menken.

The year will end with “The Homecoming,” a heartwarming holiday show November 28 through 30 and December 5 through 7. Based on the book by Earl Hamner Jr. and adapted by Christopher Sergel, this production will be directed by Gina Shuck.
