Dogfish Head’s Delaware locations are ringing in the holiday season with a lineup of events and seasonal offerings, including the debut of Cannon Aid, the brewery’s latest Benevolence Beer.
Cannon Aid, a 6.4% ABV American Porter aged on American oak, was brewed in collaboration with the Lewes Historical Society and pays tribute to Lewes’ maritime history, including the cannonball still lodged in the wall of the historic Cannonball House. The limited-release beer will be available starting Dec. 3 at the Rehoboth EmPOURium and at the Lewes Historical Society’s First Friday event for $16 per 4-pack, with proceeds supporting Lewes Hospitality Night.
“We are delighted to collaborate with Dogfish Head on Cannon Aid, for a brew that shares a unique chapter from Lewes’ storied past while supporting one of its most beloved traditions,” said Andrew J. Lyter, Curator of Maritime History at the Lewes Historical Society. “The Cannonball House and cannonball have come to represent the community of Lewes’ proud maritime heritage and resolute, communal determination in the face of adversity—values that shine brightly during Hospitality Night. This collaboration is a toast to history, togetherness, and the joy of the season.”
