SELBYVILLE, DE — Freeman Arts Pavilion will host two upcoming events in November and December that highlight both regional cultural heritage and the spirit of the holiday season.

Nanticoke Cultural Immersion Set for Nov. 22

On Saturday, November 22 at 2:00 p.m., the Pavilion will present “Nanticoke Cultural Immersion: History, Art & Storytelling,” a program focused on the traditions and experiences of the Nanticoke people. The event aims to educate attendees through storytelling, artistic presentations, and discussions of the community’s historical presence in the Delmarva region.

The Nanticoke Indian Tribe has long-standing roots in Sussex County, and this program is part of broader efforts to preserve and share Indigenous history with the public. The session will include elements of oral history, cultural symbolism, and opportunities for engagement.

Capital Ringers to Perform Holiday Concert on Dec. 5

Later in the season, the Capital Ringers, a handbell ensemble based in Delaware, will perform at Freeman Arts Pavilion on Friday, December 5 at 6:00 p.m. The concert, titled “The Most Wonderful Time … and a Few of Our Favorite Things,” will feature a mix of traditional holiday music and contemporary arrangements.

The ensemble is known for incorporating multimedia, percussion, and unique bell techniques into their performances. The show is part of their annual holiday tour, which typically includes venues across Delaware and nearby states.

Access and Ticket Information

Both events will take place at Freeman Arts Pavilion, located in Selbyville. Ticket information is available at freemanarts.org, and residents are encouraged to check availability in advance. The Pavilion continues to offer seasonal programming as part of its mission to provide accessible arts experiences in the region.
