It is never too early to start considering job options according to Governor John Carney. For this reason, he is hosting career expos in all three counties. The New Castle County Expo will be held September 25 from 8:30 AM to 3 PM for 6th through 8th graders at the Bob Carpenter Center. Kent County is planned for October 8 for 8th grade and October 9 for 11th and 12th grades. Both expos will run from 8:30 AM until 3 PM at the Delaware Technical Community College Terry Campus. Sussex will hold their expo on October 24 for 11th and 12th grades and October 25 for 8th grade. Delaware Technical and Community College Owens Campus is the location of the event from 8:30 AM to 3 PM.

“These types of events expose more Delaware students to the type of careers they can pursue in our state, ultimately helping Delaware compete in an economy that’s changing every day,” Governor Carney said about the 2023 events. “It’s never too early to show students what pathways are out there. These expos have many industries represented and I encourage businesses to participate.”

The New Castle County expo will focus on construction as well as manufacturing, logistics and transportation. Online registration for businesses to participate is now closed for this event but  interested employers can contact the governor’s office for more information.

The Kent County expo will focus on education and early childhood education as well as healthcare, agriculture, public sector, manufacturing and construction.
