Milford has been selected as one of the newest recipients of the T-Mobile Hometown Grant, securing funding that will allow the city to install fully accessible public restrooms in the downtown district.
The City of Milford shared the announcement on its official Facebook page, writing: “We are honored to receive the T-Mobile Hometown Grant in support of our Downtown Bathroom Project! This funding will allow us to install new, fully accessible public restrooms in downtown Milford—enhancing the visitor experience and encouraging even greater use of the Delaware Bayshore Byway.”

Downtown Milford, Inc. also celebrated the news, noting the long-standing need for public restrooms and the benefits they will provide. In its statement, the organization said: “This project is a huge step forward in improving accessibility, supporting local businesses, strengthening our growing downtown community, and creating a more welcoming space for everyone.”
T-Mobile’s Hometown Grants program provides up to $50,000 per community to fund local improvement projects in towns with fewer than 50,000 residents. Since its launch in April 2021, the program has invested more than $20 million in 450 towns across 48 states and Puerto Rico.
Communities have used the grants for projects that strengthen communities and improve quality of life. Applications are evaluated with assistance from Main Street America, a nonprofit specializing in community development and economic revitalization, and are reviewed based on community impact, planning detail, feasibility, and other considerations.
More information about the project and timelines will be shared as planning progresses.
