“Saturdays In Milford” are everything people love about Milford — Lots of events, small-town charm, family-friendly fun, and a community that truly supports its own!

MILFORD, Del. (Oct. 15, 2025) — From superheroes and vintage cars to handcrafted art and fresh fall produce,  Its another “Milford Saturday” that will be bursting with energy this weekend, as the city hosts multiple community events — including its first-ever Comic Con, a classic car show, a Shop Small Fall Crawl, and a new art exhibition at Gallery 37.

Milford Comic Con Debuts Downtown

The inaugural Milford Comic Con will transform North and South Walnut Street into a colorful corridor of creativity from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The family-friendly event will feature a costume contest, card tournament, local vendors, and food trucks serving crowd favorites.

Fans can browse booths packed with comic books, artwork, and collectibles while meeting local creators.
“This is a great chance for families and fans to show off their creativity and support local artists,” said Katie Coenen, owner of Red Bandana and one of the event organizers. “It’s all about celebrating imagination in the heart of Milford.”

Vendors and cosplayers can contact MilfordComicCon@gmail.com for participation details.

Classic Cars Shine at Milford Senior Center

Just a few blocks away, chrome will gleam and engines will roar as the Southern Delaware Street Rod Association hosts its annual Car Show at the Milford Senior Center, 111 Park Ave. The club, founded in 1989, celebrates cars more than 30 years old and promotes fellowship among auto enthusiasts.

The show is expected to include classic and vintage car displays, trophies or dash plaques, and food vendors. “It’s a great community day — families come to see the cars, meet old friends, and talk shop,” said SDSRA coordinator Frank Johnson, who can be reached at (302) 422-6055 or Fjj1957@live.com for details.

Gallery 37 Opens New Exhibit Featuring 12 Works by Regional and National Artists

Adding a creative flourish to the weekend, Gallery 37: A Destination for Artful Living, located at 8 S. Walnut St., will open its doors with 12 new works by regional and national artists.

Just steps from Second Street and the Riverfront Theater, Gallery 37 is a standout in Milford’s growing arts corridor. Owned by Marcia Reed, a seasoned painter and arts educator, the gallery is known for its curated collection of fine art, artisan crafts, and high-end pottery from more than 45 artists across the country.  Marcia is also displaying two of her own new works this month.

Visitors can explore Reed’s own abstract-expressionist paintings, alongside wood-turned vessels, polymer clay jewelry, marquetry furniture, and ceramic sculptures. The new exhibit continues the gallery’s tradition of blending contemporary art with craftsmanship.

Over the years, Gallery 37 has hosted poetry readings, trunk shows, and invitational exhibits, becoming a cultural anchor for downtown Milford. Guests can visit throughout the day during Saturday’s events and follow updates on the Gallery 37 Facebook page for future shows and workshops.

“This weekend really showcases Milford’s creative side,” said Marcia Reed. “From fine art to pop culture, there’s something for everyone to enjoy this weekend in Milford.”

Farmers Market Anchors the Morning

Early risers can start their day at the Riverwalk Farmers Market, open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. along the scenic Mispillion Riverwalk. The market features dozens of vendors selling local produce, baked goods, plants, and handmade crafts. Many visitors are expected to stop by before heading to the Comic Con or Fall Crawl events.

A Day That Defines Milford’s Spirit

Sade Truiett say Saturday’s lineup showcases what Milford does best — celebrating community connections through creativity, entrepreneurship, and local pride.

“It’s everything people love about Milford — small-town charm, family-friendly fun, and a community that truly supports its own,” said Sade Truitt, coordinator for Downtown Milford, Inc.

And, next weekend is going to be big too!

Shop Small Fall Crawl Highlights Milford’s Charm

Next weekend, local businesses will open their doors for Milford’s first-ever Shop Small Fall Crawl, a celebration of community, craftsmanship, and the joy of shopping local. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. across downtown, with more than a dozen participating merchants offering exclusive deals, giveaways, and fall-themed treats.

The Crawl, hosted by Junebug’s Beauty Boutique and fellow downtown retailers, invites shoppers to explore stores offering handcrafted gifts, fall fashion, home décor, artisan jewelry, and seasonal specialties. Many shops will feature festive window displays, refreshments, and live demonstrations.

“Milford is at its best when people stroll downtown, discover something new, and support the entrepreneurs who make this community thrive,” said Sade Truiett, Coordinator for Downtown Milford, Inc.  “The Fall Crawl is really about neighbors connecting with neighbors.”

To make things even sweeter, the event includes a Bakery Stamp Crawl:

  1. Pick up a flyer at any participating bakery — Fortunata’s, Dolce, My Sister’s Fault, or Ezra’s.

  2. Make a purchase at each stop to collect stamps.

  3. Submit your completed flyer to enter prize drawings.

  4. Winners will be announced via Facebook Live later in the day.

Participants are encouraged to share their photos on social media using the hashtag #ShopSmallMilfordDE to help spread awareness of the town’s growing downtown business community.
