Proceeds from Annual Road Race to Support Land Preservation Across Sussex County
The Sussex County Land Trust (SCLT) has been selected as the nonprofit beneficiary of the 2025 Dogfish Dash, scheduled for Sunday, September 28, 2025. Hosted at Dogfish Head’s Milton Brewery, the annual 3.81-mile race draws nearly 2,000 participants and remains one of the region’s most anticipated community events.

All proceeds from the race will benefit the Land Trust’s mission to preserve open space, protect natural and cultural resources, and expand access to public recreation throughout Sussex County. In 2024, the partnership between Dogfish Head and SCLT raised more than $100,000. The 2025 event is expected to build on that success, supporting local conservation and park development projects.
Sponsorship opportunities for the 2025 Dogfish Dash are now available, ranging from $500 to $10,000. Sponsorship levels include benefits such as logo placement, race entries, after-party passes, and VIP parking. Local businesses and community organizations are encouraged to get involved. Funds raised from the race will also support SCLT’s recently launched donor partnership program. This initiative allows individuals and businesses to secure naming rights for amenities, trails, and other features at Land Trust-managed parks across the county. The program provides long-term funding for park development, maintenance, and community access.
The Sussex County Land Trust currently manages properties including Stephen P. Hudson Park near Milton and Nanticoke Crossing Park near Seaford. Several additional sites are in development, all with the goal of connecting more people to nature while preserving the region’s unique landscapes.
