LEWES — Sussex Strong, a nonprofit focused on helping children and families in Sussex County, will host its annual fundraising gala on Thursday, November 6, at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center. This year’s event brings a nostalgic twist with a 1990s theme, inviting guests to “Party Like It’s 1999” while raising funds for children in need.
Proceeds from the evening will go toward Sussex Strong’s holiday giving initiative, which provides Christmas gifts to local children and families who may otherwise go without.
“This isn’t just a celebration—it’s an opportunity for our community to come together and ensure every child in Sussex County experiences the joy and magic of the holiday season,” a Sussex Strong representative said.
The gala begins at 6:00 p.m. and will include dinner, dancing, and both live and silent auctions. Organizers say individual tickets are still available, though table reservations are filling quickly.
The organization is also seeking donations to support its auction lineup. High-value items or experiences such as vacation packages or luxury getaways are needed for the live auction, while smaller goods, services, and gift items are welcome for the silent auction.
In addition to the gala, Sussex Strong is calling on community volunteers to support two major holiday events:
