Eight students from Sussex Technical High School are spending their summer gaining valuable hands-on experience through the school’s Work-Based Learning (WBL) program. Hired after submitting letters of interest and completing interviews, the students are assisting with building and facility preparations for the upcoming school year.
Working under the supervision of trained instructors, the students are actively engaged in HVAC, IT, electrical, and custodial work. The program not only provides them with real-world experience but also allows them to develop industry-recognized skills while learning directly from seasoned professionals.
WBL is available to all Sussex Tech seniors and offers students the opportunity to “earn while they learn” in a supportive, real-world environment. The program is part of Sussex Technical High School’s broader mission to prepare students in Sussex County for future success in the workforce, higher education, or military service.
