Canadian fast food favorite Tim Hortons is coming to the First State.
The chain will open in Dover at the former Speedway Café location on 737 North DuPont Boulevard, and nine others will be built across Delaware within the next five years.
The move comes several years after its limited-time operation at the Dover Air Force Base.

Franchisee Kashif Mushtaq is enthusiastic about the new site, citing its high cross-traffic and visibility as ideal for the Tim Hortons brand.
“We think it will be a great service for the high morning traffic in the area,” Mushtaq said. “Tim Hortons truly offers a premium product line, from better coffee to higher quality donuts, and I believe the residents of Dover will really enjoy it.”
The new Tim Hortons will feature both a double-lane drive-thru and dine-in facilities.
While construction is expected to take a few months, Mushtaq aims for a grand opening before the summer of 2025.
Tim Hortons, originally founded in Canada, is known for its coffee, donuts, sandwiches, and breakfast egg muffins.
With over 5,700 locations worldwide, the brand is the largest quick-service restaurant chain in Canada, and now plans to expand further in Delaware.
“We’re currently drawing up plans for a Newark location as well, and we’re excited to bring the Tim Hortons brand to more areas in Delaware,” Mushtaq said.
