The Positively Dover African American Festival will return to downtown Dover later this month, bringing a day of cultural celebration, live entertainment and family-friendly activities to the Legislative Mall.
The festival is scheduled for Saturday, June 27, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Legislative Mall, located at 411 Legislative Ave. The event is free and open to the public and will be held rain or shine.
Now in its 36th year, the annual festival celebrates African American heritage, arts and community while welcoming attendees from across Delaware and the Mid-Atlantic region. Organizers describe the event as an opportunity for people of all backgrounds to come together and experience a wide range of cultural and artistic programming.
Visitors can expect live music and entertainment throughout the day, along with performing and visual arts exhibits, food trucks, vendor markets and educational activities designed for families and children.
The festival is held on the historic Legislative Mall and serves as one of Dover’s longest-running cultural events. Organizers say the event is designed to highlight music, art, education and community engagement while promoting positive family values through cultural experiences and interactive activities.
Admission is free.
