The Freeman Arts Pavilion has announced its upcoming winter and early spring events, offering a variety of performances and talks for art, music and literature fans throughout the region.
Author Chat: Standing on Main Street, The Story of America’s Route 66 — Sunday, Jan. 23, 2026 at 6:30 p.m.
Artist and classically trained realist Elise Zoller has spent years painting scenes along the route and recording stories from people she met along the way. At Freeman, she will share selected paintings and tales from her travels. Her book, Standing on Main Street, The Story of America’s Route 66 in Paintings, will be available in December 2025.
The Art of the Love Song — Sunday, Feb. 15, 2026 at 4:00 p.m.
Songwriters and husband‑wife duo Scott and Jen Smith of Naked Blue explore the challenge and thrill of writing a good love song — from where inspiration comes to how to untangle the right strings to pull at our hearts. They will perform songs that follow the arc of their 35‑year relationship, from their early days as co‑writers and bandmates through 28 years of marriage, along with some of their favorite covers.
What You Never Knew about Nancy Drew — Wednesday, Mar. 4, 2026
As spring approaches, book lovers can look forward to this event exploring unexpected facets of the beloved fictional detective Nancy Drew. Described as a fresh look at her legacy, the presentation may appeal both to longtime fans and newcomers curious about the stories and history behind the character.

Cantabile Women’s Chorus, in residence at the Music School of Delaware’s Milford Branch, presents a Women’s History Month program featuring music by and about women. The repertoire spans styles and eras, from Jane Seymour to Anne Bonny and Sojourner Truth, highlighting women’s struggles and achievements throughout history.
Eurydice Lives Again: The Art of Mythic Storytelling with Orpheus Collar — Wednesday, Apr. 15, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.
Graphic novelist Orpheus Collar, known for his NYT best-selling adaptations of Rick Riordan’s mythology series, offers a behind-the-scenes look at his upcoming YA graphic novel, Eurydice Lives Again. Mixing myth, romance, and adventure, Collar will share art slides, character sketches, and stories from archaeological trips across Greece.
