Delaware State Police arrested 38-year-old Matthew Gray of Ellendale, Delaware for felony DUI in Milton on Thursday evening.
On August 31, 2023 at approximately 11:36 p.m., a trooper on patrol in Milton, Delaware observed a tan Chevrolet Tahoe fail to use its turn signal when it moved into the right lane on Route 1 northbound. While traveling behind the vehicle, the trooper observed the vehicle crossing the white fog line multiple times. The trooper stopped the car and contacted the operator, identified as Matthew Gray, in the area of Route 1 northbound and Oyster Rocks Road. As the trooper was speaking with Gray, he observed signs of impairment and smelled an odor of alcoholic beverages. Gray refused to complete field sobriety test and was subsequently taken into custody. A computer check showed that Gray had two prior DUI related convictions.
Gray was taken to Troop 7 and charged with the following crimes:
- 3rd Offense DUI (Felony)
- Traffic Offenses
Gray was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3 and was released on his own recognizance.
