Twisted Irons Craft Brewing Company will be honored with the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition’s (DBCC) 2025 Shining Light Award for its outstanding support and advocacy in the fight against breast cancer.

The award will be presented at a special celebration on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at The Waterfall in Claymont.

The Shining Light Awards, presented annually by DBCC, recognize individuals and organizations in the Greater Delaware region who demonstrate exceptional commitment to advancing breast cancer awareness, support, and innovation.

“The Shining Light Awards are about honoring those who go above and beyond to uplift the breast cancer community,” said Francesca Vogel, DBCC’s CEO. “Twisted Irons exemplifies the spirit of generosity and compassion that drives our mission forward.”

Twisted Irons, founded in 2020 by Matt Found and Dave Markle, has been a steadfast partner to DBCC despite launching during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Middletown-based brewery quickly distinguished itself through a unique blend of philanthropy and community engagement, particularly around breast cancer causes.

One of the brewery’s signature initiatives is the creation of Pinipple NEIPA, a craft beer brewed in honor of breast cancer patients and survivors.

For every pint sold, $1 is donated to DBCC to support programs and services for individuals affected by the disease.

Twisted Irons exemplifies the spirit of generosity and compassion that drives the DBCC mission forward, going above and beyond to uplift the breast cancer community not just through fundraising, but through heartfelt involvement and community leadership, the coalition stated.

In addition to financial contributions, the brewery actively participates in DBCC’s signature events, including sponsoring the annual Lights of Life Gala.

Lori Found, Matt’s wife, has served for years on the gala’s décor committee, volunteering time and resources to help bring the event to life.

The brewery has also hosted meetings and volunteer events for DBCC, providing space and hands-on support to help advance the coalition’s mission.

Staff members frequently volunteer at both DBCC-sponsored and community-based fundraisers, and the brewery has become a launching point for several grassroots events—including the Kickoff to Summer 5K and the Drive Out Cancer golf tournament—organized by patrons inspired by Twisted Irons’ advocacy.

DBCC estimates that 1,210 Delawareans will receive a breast cancer diagnosis in 2025.

With that in mind, Vogel said the coalition’s work—and the role of committed partners like Twisted Irons—remains essential.
