DEWEY BEACH — The Delaware Restaurant Association (DRA) will host its 23rd Annual Restaurant Industry Cornerstone Awards on Monday, October 20, bringing together more than 450 members of the state’s restaurant industry, community leaders, and elected officials to recognize excellence and resilience across Delaware’s culinary landscape.
Held at the Lighthouse Cove Event Center in Dewey Beach, the Cornerstone Awards spotlight restaurants, individuals, and organizations that exemplify the values of community, creativity, and perseverance within the hospitality industry.
Among this year’s honorees is 1776 Steakhouse, a longtime Rehoboth Beach favorite operated by managing partner Tom Holmes. The restaurant will receive the Cornerstone Award, which acknowledges its legacy and continued influence on the local dining scene.
The Restaurateurs of the Year award will go to the partners behind Bardea Restaurant Group, the team behind several high-profile Wilmington establishments, including Bardea, Bardea Steak, Casa Nonna, Roost, and the DE.CO food hall. The group has been recognized for its dynamic contributions to Wilmington’s evolving food scene.
Two organizations will be recognized with Industry Impact Awards for their work supporting the well-being of hospitality workers and strengthening communities: Celebrate Wellness and SoDel Wellness.
The evening will include video tributes and remarks from honorees, with presentations beginning around 7 p.m.
The Cornerstone Awards are a signature event for the DRA, serving as both a celebration and a reflection of the restaurant industry’s central role in Delaware’s economy and culture.
