New staff enjoyed a sampling of Milford’s finest cuisine, generously provided by our local partners, signifying the importance of community collaboration. These partnerships are at the heart  not only of the district’s success but also the success of students, This ongoing collaboration helps Milford chart a path toward excellence.  Businesses who generously donated to the luncheon include: Applebees, Arenas, Boujee Babies, Buffalo Wild Wings, Chaiyo, Chick-fil-A, The Cured Plate, Dolce, Grotto Pizza, Jersey Mikes, Kick n’ Chicken, La Hacienda, Next Level Nutrition, The Palace, Redner’s, Shang Hai, Surf Bagel, and Village and Venue.

This summer, the administrative team engaged in a comprehensive series of professional development sessions designed to enhance teaching practices and elevate student achievement. As a reminder, schools will be closed to students on Tuesday, September 10th for Delaware Primary Elections.  This offers an opportunity for professional development for staff as the new school year.begins   Dr. Carvajal Hageman, Chief Academic Officer, has put together a comprehensive professional development plan for the Milford School District.

“All educators have been assigned professional learning that is directly related to their position and role. Professional learning provides time to learn new skills, collaborate with others in job-alike roles, and further develop expertise,” Dr. Hageman said. “Professional learning days are set aside specifically for MSD staff to learn. Educators gain skills that will help students learn at the highest levels.”  T

These efforts reflect district-wide commitment to continuous improvement and align with the theme for the year, which is “Believe,” as they strive for excellence in every classroom.

Milford School District is confident that the work put in over the summer, combined with the fresh perspectives of our new hires and the support of our district-community, will lead to a successful school year. As always, the district remains focused on the mission of “Charting the Course to Excellence” and look forward to the many accomplishments ahead.
