The Dover Police Department has arrested Shakeira Heir, 31, of Wilmington, for the attempted robbery at Royal Farms. Dover Police Detectives developed Heir as a suspect early on in the investigation and obtained warrants for her arrest. On 08/11/2023, Heir was taken into custody without incident and transported to Dover Police Department for processing.
Heir was committed to BWCI on $11,500 secured bail on the following charges:
-Attempted Robbery First Degree
-Assault Third Degree (2x)
-Disorderly Conduct

Narrative: The Dover Police Department is investigating an attempted robbery that occurred at Royal Farms Tuesday afternoon. The investigation began at 2:31 p.m., when Dover Police was called to the business for a fight. Officers responded and the fight was no longer in progress. The ensuing investigation revealed that a black female entered the business and attempted to purchase tobacco products. The female was unable to purchase tobacco products, at which time she began to assault staff at the store, while attempting to remove products from behind the counter. The suspect then fled. There is no additional suspect information available at this time.
